A drive device (15) connected to a motherboard (14), has an assigned identifier (44) which is compared with an identifier (46) stored in a flash memory (42) by a basic input/output system (BIOS) (26). The BIOS boots the drive device, if the assigned identifier corresponds to the stored identifier. An Independent claim is also included for computer system securing method.
