The width of the foil web (4) is 5 to 80 and preferably 10 to 40 cm and the thickness of the web and the type of adhesive as well as the width of the self-adhesive layer are matched with each other so that the web can be fixed solely by adhesive and without mechanical fixing means permanently against window profiles (1) of aluminium, plastics, wood. Independent claim describes use of foil web for sealing joints between window frame and supporting building structure and also for sealing roofs to keep out damp.
