A hollow body (1) acts as a connection element i.e. a piece of metal pipework. A stamping tool has a conical stump-like stamping die (6) and a counter mount inside the hollow body, in which the stamping die makes a recess in the hollow body to create a recess area (V) with a conical form (K), which is perforated by drilling, laser, etc. to form a hole (D) in the recess area.
