The brick has heat insulating plates integrated into it and which protrudes over the side dimensions of the brick, or over the upper and lower end faces. The insulating plates have rigid seating by press fitting or by gluing in. Protruding insulating material engages at the bottom or top in the next brick in the wall, or in the side like a tongue and groove joint. On the abutting faces with the next brick a material may be used which is different to that used on the inside of the brick. An Independent claim is included for a wall or suchlike which uses a dry installed jointing material.
