A lightweight load supporting panel has a sandwich construction with a cellular core made of paper and with outer cladding panels of aluminium sheet or glass fibre reinforced plastic sheet. The core can be made of recycled paper with a core thickness of 8 to 100 mm and is treated to be water resistant. No support frame is required.
