A silo system for concrete mixing has the cement and other free flow material held in silos and dispensed via outflow ducts and metering systems. The ducts are fitted with compressed air ducts fed into the ducts below the dispensing points and at an angle of between30 and 40 deg. to the vertical. This prevents back pressure and loss of air back into the silo, reducing the air requirement and reducing the risk of blockages. The system is applied to both the primary silos and the intermediate silos, from which the mixture is prepared.
