Optical indication of alteration of speed of vehicle for benefit of driver of following vehicle consists of third lamp which may change color when vehicle decelerates

The additional lamp is mounted on the rear end of the vehicle and is controlled by the tachometer or speedometer to indicate when the vehicle is decelerating without application of the friction brakes on the wheels. The lamp may be green when vehicle speed is constant or accelerating, and goes yellow or orange on deceleration. The green and orange lamps may be LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes).
