The elastic seal for two adjoining building blocks is in the form of a double-T section with an outer member overlapping on the outside two facing batten-form protrusions (9-12) on the respective building blocks, and inner member overlapping the protrusions on the inside, and connecting web which spaces apart the outer and inner member and is located between the opposite-lying protrusions of the adjoining building blocks. The length of the outer member is such that when the seal is in place the two ends of the member bear upon the outer edges of the blocks. The outer member consists of a softer elastic material than the inner.
