The towing bar (16) has a support tube (17) rotatably mounted just behind the overrun device and on its upper end is fitted a V-form notched flat steel section (18) which in the running position engages in a square tube profile rigidly connected to the frame and rotatable by 45 degrees towards the direction of travel and is locked in this position by a commercially available eccentric lock. With the frame a mechanically locking and form locking connection is created which is necessary for road traffic regulations (StVZO) but which at the same time is easy to release for lowering of the trailer. The complete trailer, lowerable to ground level, has a self-supporting frame (3) in box construction style. The trailer is welded from steel sheet side wall profiles which are offered as industrially fabricated series-produced parts. With the frame a mechanically locking and form locking connection is created which is necessary for German road traffic regulations (StVZO) but which at the same time is easy to release for lowering of the trailer.
