The instrument stand has a triangular, composable holding frame, comprising two stand strips (1) articulatedly connected to each other in an end area and a horizontal strip (2). The stand strips are pivotable between an arrangement in which they are parallel to each other and a position in which they are unfolded and at an acute angle to one another. The horizontal strip is articulatedly located on a stand strip and is pivotable around a pivot axis arranged vertically to the main plane of the holding frame. This enables the horizontal strip to be pivoted into a position parallel to the stand strip. In the holding frame in an area close to the ground, two support bars (4) are insertable, which project both backwards and forwards over the holding frame. The backwardly extending sections of the support bars hold the holding frame in an inclined upright position. The forwardly extending sections of the support bars form the location on which the instrument is to be placed.
