A transportable fairground ride has a vertical mast (2) secured on a base and with an arm (7) pivot mounted on the top of the mast. A seating platform (8) is fitted onto the free end of the arm. A counterweight (9) is fitted to the other end of the arm, on the other side of the pivot axis (16). Hydraulic rams control the movement and position of the mast and arm. The arm and mast provide a 360[deg] movement while the platform has a swivel mounting on the end of the arm. The ride enables the seating platform to move in a wide variety of movements. To move the ride the mast and arm are folded down onto a wheeled base, to fold into a compact pack which fits into road transport dimensions.
