The height adjustable seat has a seat part frame (1) to which a flat spring arrangement (4) is attached. The spring arrangement is attached to the seat part frame on at least one side and at the rear to allow height adjustment. A drive (5) adjusts the inclination of two parallel linkages (2,3) on either side of the frame and rigidly connected by a cross-piece (6) that is rotated by the drive to adjust the inclination of the linkages and hence the seat height.
