The invention relates to a connector (1, 101) for optical waveguides comprising a connector housing (2, 102) in whose one end (3, 103) a fiber optic cable (4) is inserted, and ferrules (6, 7) exit from the opposite end (5, 105). Said outer ferrule individual housing is accommodated in the connector housing (2, 102) such that it is coupled for movement and comprises means (19, 20) with which the lock can be disengaged between the inner ferrule individual housing (8, 9) and the locking counter-element (14, 15) of the connector counter-coupling (16) by axially displacing the outer ferrule individual housing (17, 18) against the inner ferrule individual housing (8, 9) in a direction toward the cable insertion end (3, 103). A connection (21, 22, 23, 121, 122, 123) which is coupled for movement and which can be an additional housing is configured between the fiber optic cable (4) and the inner ferrule individual housing (8, 9).
