Functional artificial ornamentals in horticulture and process for their preparation

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornamental artificial plant which exhibits a deodoring effect despite absence of any mechanical air cleaning device, decomposes soils of organic substances, and visually and mentally heals viewers because of its natural appearance, the deodorizing and anti-soiling effects lasting for an extended period of time. ;SOLUTION: The leaf/petal L of this ornamental artificial plant includes a base coating layer B of inorganic binder (b) or binder that has been converted to inorganic, and a thin film layer AB of a composition comprising inorganic particles (a) with photo-catalytic action and an inorganic binder (b) or binder that has been converted to inorganic. The leaf/petal L of this ornamental artificial plant can be structured with a molding incorporated with inorganic particulates (a) having photo-catalytic action and preferably further treated for a rough surface finish.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
