A combined apparatus for separation of solids and fats consists of a first container (1) for collecting solids-containing waste water from an inlet (3) and an inclined screw conveyor (4) immersed at it's lower end in the solids-containing waste water. The screw conveyor is surrounded by a housing (14) at it's immersed end and at it's upper end, a drive (5, 6) is used to move the conveyor to deliver solids into a hopper (7). A treatment container (8) has a dosing device (10) for supplying treatment additives to the material collected in chamber (7). A second fat-separating container (21) next to chamber (1) is into which fat-containing water is supplied via an inlet (41), fat (21) collecting at the top and clean water flowing out through an outlet near the base of the container .(25).
