The device has a control unit (6) controlling main rotor disk along pitch axis according to a vertical objective law. A limiting law limits the speed of the helicopter to its maximum and minimum values and a detecting unit determines whether the airspeed reaches the limit values. When the limit values are reached, the control unit employs the objective law to toggle the speed towards the other limit. An Independent claim is also included.
