The invention concerns a chimeric plasmid comprising a replicative retroviral genome characterized in that it contains: a psi ( psi )sequence, gag and pol sequences derived from a MLV virus genome, a chimeric env sequence including a region corresponding to part of the envelope derived from a MLV virus genome and a region corresponding to part of the envelope derived from a GaLV virus genome.
