The guide device for a cycle wheel (1) comprises a rigid fork (2) articulated at its lower end on a wheel axis (3). A lower connection part (4) is articulated on the fork by a ball joint (5) and on the chassis about a transverse axis (7). A combined suspension-damper (8) is interposed between the connection part and the chassis. Upper connections (9) connecting an upper transverse axis (AT) are arranged so that the axis constitutes a transverse articulation between the fork and the upper connection. The upper connections allow the transverse axis to be displaced relative to the chassis around three perpendicular axes (AV). A steering assembly (14,19) rotates around a vertical axis (AV) but is not connected to rotate around the transverse axis.
