The stud (1) for a soccer or rugby boot fits over a sleeve (3.1), into which the head (10) of a bolt (5) is inserted. The bolt screws into a threaded bore (15) in the sole (14) of the boot. The bolt is locked in position by a pin (7) which fits through bores in the stud and in the bolt head.
