The control for the restoration of accelerator pedal effort in a motor vehicle reproduces the accelerator pedal effort of the vehicle and applies the same effort to a pedal of a simulator. It has a support (12) on which a movable cam (18) is mounted. The accelerator cable (C) is wound around the cam. The cam provides a resistance force of which the variation characteristics during movement of the cable correspond to those of the vehicle accelerator pedal.
