PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepaid card system and a method enabling increase in the balance of the prepaid card and refund of the balance of the prepaid card with a debit card.;SOLUTION: This prepaid card system comprises a game store 100, a communication network 200, a server computer 300, a CAFIS network 400 and a financial institution 500. The game store 100 is provided with a prepaid card issuance/refund machine 10, a game unit 20 and an in-store host computer 30. The in-store computer 30 provides issuance applicant information, balance increment applicant information, and balance refund applicant information to the server computer 300 through the communication network 200.
