PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate/remove iron ions and a volatile organic compound from water to be treated in an energy saving manner by enhancing the contact probability of the water to be treated with air.;SOLUTION: A main jet stream is ejected in the direction of the almost center line of an internal space V from a jet nozzle 46. When the main jet stream is ejected, sticking vortexes of low pressure are generated at eight corners of a jet stream generation chamber 45 by Coanda effect to generate sticking jet streams in the main jet stream. The stream of labile main jet is generated in the jet stream generation chamber 45. These jet streams such as the main jet stream, the sticking vortexes or the like generate air particles with an extremely fine particle size and the water to be treated and a large number of air particles with an extremely fine particle size are mixed and stirred uniformly. Ferrous ions contained in the water to be treated are reacted with dissolved oxygen on the surface of the contact iron removing filter medium in an iron removing column 5 and adhere to the filter medium as iron oxyhydroxide to be removed and separated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
