PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a half-sunk catamaran oceanographic expedition ship provided with high safety and having excellent performance.;SOLUTION: In this half-sunk catamaran oceanographic expedition ship provided with a forecastle 9, a passenger hold 10, and a poop 11 continuously in the front and the rear, the passenger hold 10 is constituted into many steps vertically in respective double barrels and has a watertight structure per division. Sea water ballast is loaded on an inner side of the double barrels, and fixed ballast is loaded in a ship bottom part of the passenger hold 10. An opening and closing watertight bulkhead installed in a seat and a fixed watertight bulkhead installed in a top part of a fixed ballast tank are provided so that it has the watertight structure per division partitioned between mutual web frames. It is provided with an observation hole having a double structure provided on an inner side and an outer side of an outer plate of the passenger hold and having window glass in each division block.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
