GLASS SUBSTRATE FOR PDP AND PDP STRUCTURE AND DRIVING METHOD OF PDP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate for a PDP which uses a glass container as a dielectric layer of the PDP to simplify its manufacturing procedure and make possible to improve its luminous efficiency by devising its structure, by reducing the thickness of the glass substrate and compensating the deterioration of strength accompanying it, and by providing a shield effect of AC type PDP against the noise of electromagnetic wave without the loss of electric power.;SOLUTION: Glass is sandblasted or chemically etched to form channels or dimples on its surface, and external electric discharge electrodes discharge electrons toward internal electrodes and are arranged in parts where the thickness is decreased. Electric potentials of the external electrodes are kept constant to block off the noise of electromagnetic wave without the ineffective loss of electric power.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
