KEY DEVICE WITH FUNCTION OF PREVENTING DRUNKEN DRIVING AND THEFT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the drunken driving and theft of an automobile by using a function of a key itself for the automobile.;SOLUTION: A fingerprint detecting means 1 and an alcohol concentration detecting means 6 are provided in a key holder body 21 which makes the key 22 for the automobile protrusible/retreatable, so as to detect the person's fingerprint and an alcohol content. When a fingerprint determining means 4 and an alcohol concentration determining means 8 determine that his/her detected fingerprint corresponds to a preregistered fingerprint of his/her own and that the alcohol concentration is a preset reference value or below, the output of an OK signal and the release of a locking mechanism 9 make the key 22 usable. When his/her detected fingerprint does not correspond to the preregistered fingerprint of his/her own or when the alcohol concentration is the reference value or above, the nonoutput of the OK signal disables the use of the key 22.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
