PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a means for regulating the flower keeping quality of a plant belonging to the genus Petunia and to provide a method for detecting a transgenic plant comprising an ethylene receptor gene-like nucleic acid or its antisense DNA transferred thereinto.;SOLUTION: A primer set comprises a nucleic acid containing a DNA composed of a specific base sequence derived from Petunia hybrida and a combination of a primer 1 containing bases forming one boundary region selected from the group consisting of a boundary region 1 between exon 1 and exon 2, a boundary region 2 between the exon 2 and exon 3, a boundary region 3 between the exon 3 and exon 4 and a boundary region 4 between exon the 4 and exon 5 constituting a cDNA encoding the ethylene receptor gene-like nucleic acid sequence derived from the plant belonging to the genus Petunia, respectively or a complementary sequence thereof and a primer 2 containing bases forming other boundary regions or a complementary sequence thereto.
