PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft aluminum foil for a medium/low-voltage electrolytic capacitor which is cheap, has a high Fe content, and is given an expected strength by the final temper annealing and a high capacitance by an AC etching treatment.;SOLUTION: This soft aluminum foil for an electrolytic capacitor has a Fe content of 50-120 ppm and an aluminum purity of 99.94 % or higher. As for intermetallic compounds in the foil, the sum of Fe contents of intermetallic compounds with a major axis less than 0.1 μm is 5% or lower based on the Fe contents of the foil; the sum of Fe contents of intermetallic compounds with a major axis of 0.1-1.0 μm is 10 % or lower; and the sum of Fe contents of intermetallic compounds with a major axis more than 1.0 μm is 40-80%.
