PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a creep property of a fresh material (including a renewed material) or an aged and deteriorated material of a heat resisting material, by introducing or infiltrating such a grain-boundary-strengthening element as to affect the creep strength and/or the fatigue strength into a base metal or a weld heat-affected zone, and to extend the life of the heat resisting material.;SOLUTION: A method for reforming and strengthening the heat resisting material is characterized by jointing and diffusing such the grain-boundary-strengthening element as to affect the creep strength and/or the fatigue strength to the surface of the base metal or the weld heat-affected zone of the fresh material or the aged and deteriorated material, to improve the creep property of the base metal or the weld heat-affected zone, wherein the grain-boundary-strengthening material contains one or more elements selected from the grain-boundary-strengthening group of B, Hf, Zr, W, V, Nb, Ti and the other elements.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
