PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the use of the distillation lees of white distilled liquor useful as an active component of pharmaceutical composition and health food for the prevention and treatment of tumors.;SOLUTION: The solid ethanol extraction residue is produced by drying a liquid separated from the distillation lees of white distilled liquor. The solid ethanol extract is produced by drying the liquid separated from the distillation lees of white distilled liquor. The method for the production of the ethanol extraction residue comprises the centrifugal separation of the water-containing distillation lees of white distilled liquor, the freeze-drying of the separated supernatant to obtain a solid component and the extraction of the solid with ethanol to collect the extraction residue. The ethanol extraction residue or the ethanol extract is useful for the production of a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of tumors.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
