PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with which the shrinkage amount, length and/or crimp properties such as a number of crimps, crimp removal and crimp stability of individual staple fiber are especially, substantially simultaneously determined and a method therefor.;SOLUTION: The testing device 1 is equipped with a transparent or translucent upper fixation board 2 fitted so as to hold at least the top of at least one staple fiber 100 and at least one transparent or translucent clip 4 fitted so as to be arranged at the opposing lower end of the staple fiber in order to especially, substantially simultaneously the shrinkage amount, length and/or crimp properties such as a number of crimps, crimp removal and crimp stability of individual staple fiber.
