PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deficient color complementing printer, a deficient color complementing print process and a deficient color complementing print program in which print stop due to ink end can be avoided after receiving print data.;SOLUTION: Upon receiving print data, a printer 100 calculates ink consumption for that print data and detects the residual quantity of ink before printing. If the residual quantity of ink exceeds the ink consumption, print is performed in normal print mode otherwise print is performed in deficient color complementing print mode after that print data is converted into complementing print data according to a specified conversion rule. Since print stop due to ink end is eliminated after print data is received by the printer, print can be continued with stabilized quality.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
