PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a MIG pulsed arc welding method for magnesium or magnesium alloys, in which prevention of blowhole generation, improvement of penetration, improvement of bead shapes, etc., are achieved particularly by the MIG pulsed arc welding using a mixed gas of argon and helium as shielding gases.;SOLUTION: In the MIG pulsed arc welding method for magnesium or magnesium alloys, a mixed gas of argon and helium is used as shielding gases. The mixing ratio of helium is set at 20 % or above but 70% or below in volume percent. In addition. the pulse energy value which is the multiplication of the peak current and the peak period is set in the range from not less than the lower limit where there is no droplet transfer roughly synchronous with the peak period to not more than the upper limit where a plenty of spatters are generated from the droplets.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
