PURPOSE: To obtain a copolymer latex compsn. which has improved film-forming properties and gives a film improved in altiblocking properties and impact resistance by mixing two specific copolymer latices. ;CONSTITUTION: This copolymer latex (A) is obtd. by subjecting 2-15 pts.wt. monomer mixture comprising 90-99.9wt.% hydrophobic ethylenically unsatd. monomer (a) having a water solubility (at 20°C and 1atm) of 1wt.% or lower and 0.1-10wt.% ethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid (b) to emulsion polymn. in the presence of 2-15wt.% surfactant of the formula (wherein R is alkyl, etc.; M is Na, etc.; and n is 5-40), adding a monomer mixture comprising 30-99.8wt.% monomer (a). 0.1-10 wt.% monomer (b), and 0.1-2wt.% ethylenically unsatd. carboxiamide together with the surfactant of the formula to the polymn. system, and subiecting the resulting mixture to emulsion polymn. A copolymer latex (B) having a glass transition temperature of 10°C or lower is obtd. by copolymerizing 20-50wt.% vinyl cyanide, 45-79.5wt.% conjugated diene, and 0.5-5wt.% ethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid. 10-90wt.% copolymer latex A and 10-90wt.% copolymer latex B are mixed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
