PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which is usable in the cosmetic field, in which a hydrophilic active component unstable in an oxidative medium is stabilized, and which shows a good feeling on application, does not cause any skin irritation after the application, and is adapted to the limitation of an industrial implementation of a production process therefor. PSOLUTION: The composition which comprises a physiologically acceptable medium including an aqueous phase and containing at least one oxidation sensitive hydrophilic active component selected from ascorbic acid and its derivatives and at least one maleic anhydride copolymer composed of maleic anhydride and at least one comonomer selected from vinyl acetate, vinyl alcohol, vinylpyrrolidone, 2-20C olefines, and styrene is used cosmetically and/or dermatologically for preventing and/or treating skin symptoms due to intrinsic aging.
