Screening methods for identifying compounds that inhibit the ubiquitination reaction mediated by the APC are based on the ability of the APC subunit APC11 to form a multiubiquitin chain. Independently self-ubiquitination of APC11, and binding to APC11, it is possible to measure the ability of compounds that interfere with the ubiquitination of APC substrates or the formation of multi-ubiquitin chains.
