PURPOSE: To provide a cooling means of the refractory at a furnace bottom, in which the cooling of a furnace shell at the side wall part of the furnace bottom of a blast furnace is efficiently executed, the damage of the refractory thereat is restrained and the reduction of heat loss therefrom is obtd. ;CONSTITUTION: The temp. of the refractory at the furnace bottom is estimated by calculating the thickness of an air layer of a monolithic refractory according to expansion/shrinkage of the furnace shell based on the measured values of the temp. at the side wall part of the furnace bottom of the blast furnace and the cooling water temp. Repair is executed to eliminate the air layer based on this value. By this method, TiO₂, charging quantity can be reduced and the rising of viscosity of molten iron caused by the Ti source can be restrained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
