PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the tilt of a magnetooptical recording medium mounted on a device. ;SOLUTION: A magnetooptical disk 10 is mounted on a spindle 21, the instruction of tilt correction is given to a tilt correction arithmetic circuit 31 and a magnetic field control part 29 by detecting the mounting and a cross talk detection area is reproduced. A tilt value calculating circuit 33 judges whether or not a tilt modification is performed in accordance with the calculated result. In the case of performing, the tilt of the spindle 21 is adjusted by a three- dimensional moving table 34a and the tilt is modified. After the tilt is corrected, the cross talk detection area is again reproduced, the tilt value is calculated and the completion of the tilt modification is confirmed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
