Traffic situation determination method based on reported vehicle data for a traffic network including traffic-controlled network nodes

Traffic data is captured through associated vehicles moving around in traffic. Indicative traffic data is captured for journey times on edges of routes through these associated vehicles. For each route's edge these journey times determine average vehicle numbers in a queue, average vehicle numbers, average vehicle speed outside the queues, average queuing time and/or average vehicle density outside the queues.
