PURPOSE: To make a comparator suitable for use in a FIFO memory by dividing plural bit comparators into plural groups and making the groups mutually parallelly generate comparison output signals. ;CONSTITUTION: The bit comparators are divided into comparator groups 50, 60, 70 and 80, a binary bit 36 is the bit of a binary number to be compared with the program bit 34 of a fixed program value and the binary bit is the one for which the binary bit 36 is inverted. A comparion input 30 is equal to a comparison output 32 from the bit comparator in front and the comparison output 32 is decided by comparing the binary bit 36 with the program bit 34. Respective transmission gates 92, 94, 96 and 98 receive the comparison output signals 59, 69, 79 and 89 from the corresponding comparator groups and a logical input decided by a Boolean equation as the input. The logical inputs 93, 95, 97 and 99 pass through the comparison output of the comparator group provided with the bit of a highest order provided with the difference of a size as a final comparison output 100.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
