This invention relates to an organothiosulfonato Au(I) complex having the formula;wherein M is a cationic counter ion; ;A is a substituted or unsubstituted organic group; ;and n is 1 to 4; and wherein the compound is symmetrical. It further relates to the synthesis of said compounds.
