The invention disclosure relates to novel archaeosomes, and the use ofarchaeosomes, for the enhanced delivery of pharmaceutical and othercompounds to specific cell types and tissues in animals and other life-forms.Theefficacy of the archaeosomes and of conventional liposomes can be furtherenhanced by incorporation of coenzyme Q10 and/or polyethylene glycol into therespective vesicles. Other coenzymes or vitamins, such as vitamin E, whichhaveimmunostimulatory properties may be included, or substituted for, CoQ10. Thisinvention also relates to the use of these vesicles in vaccine formulations,asadjuvants and/or delivery vehicles, for enhancing the immune response toimmunogens in animals such as a human.
