USER INTERFACE FOR NAVIGATING AMONG, ORGANIZING AND EXECUTING PROGRAM, FILES AND DATA IN A COMPUTER SYSTEM

A graphical user interface (103) which arranges first (111), second (113), and third windows (112) on three of the four sides of an imaginary rectangular parallelepiped, arranges on each of the windows selection portions (111, 112, 113) selectable to input commands, displays the first window (111) nearly at the center of the display and displays at least portions of the second (113) and third windows (112) at the right and left respectfully, when the first window (111) is selected. Because the user feels as if he were standing inside the imaginary rectangular parallelepiped and more easily understand the display menus, the user can quickly and certainly input commands through the three-dimensional interface (103).
