The invention relates to a method for determining injection valve time specifications and filling specifications in an internal combustion engine, said engine having a multitude of cylinders with a variable valve gear each provided with an intake pipe, at a specified change in torque. The method provides that, when determining a positive specified change in torque at a synchronization time, it is detected whether an injection process in a cylinder of the internal combustion engine is active and when this is the case, a basic injection time of this injection process is prolonged by a first length of time. According to the realizable fuel dynamics, the filling dynamics for a control device with completely variable valve control can be limited whereby enabling the desired air-fuel ratio to be readjusted at any time.
