PURPOSE: A credit card authorization device having a mobile phone function and method for approving a credit card using a mobile phone are provided to allow a mobile phone user to purchase goods or pay a service use charge with a credit card by coupling a mobile phone function to a credit card authorization device. CONSTITUTION: A mobile phone function unit(18) is mounted in and interworks with a credit card authorization device(10-1) installed in each credit card member(affiliated) shop. The mobile phone function unit(18) is connected to a specific server through a mobile communication network, transmits a mobile phone number of a client inputted from a key input unit and a previously stored mobile phone number of its own to request credit card information of the client. When the mobile phone function unit(18) receives credit card information of the client from the specific server through the mobile communication network, it displays the received credit card information, receives an ACK from the key input unit, and transmits it to the credit card authorization device(10-1). The credit card authorization device(10-1) regards the credit card information received from the mobile phone function unit(18) as credit card information presented by the client and performs a credit card approving process following inputting of the credit card information with a corresponding credit card company.
