PURPOSE: An apparatus for protecting a current transformer in switchboard equipment of iron works is provided to prevent the damage of the current transformer by installing an additional device for short-circuiting the secondary side of the current transformer in a separating state of a setting pin from a time current setting plate of an over-current relay. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for protecting a current transformer in switchboard equipment of iron works includes a bypass line(90), a plurality of contact points(61a,b-67a,b), and a plurality of limit switches(51-57). The bypass line(90) is connected to a current transformer. The number of contact points(61a,b-67a,b) corresponds to the number of taps(41-47) drawn from a main coil(3) connected to a time current setting plate(20) for connecting selectively transformer terminals(a,b) through a setting pin on the bypass line. The limit switches(51-57) are connected to the contact points.
