Method for encoding digital audio using advanced psychoacoustic model and apparatus thereof

PURPOSE: A digital audio coding method using an improved psychoacoustic model and an apparatus therefor are provided to improve the sound quality of an output audio stream using a modified psychoacoustic model. CONSTITUTION: A window switching unit(220) decides a window type according to the characteristic of an input audio signal. A CMDCT(Complex Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) unit(230) generates a CMDCT spectrum from the input audio signal according to the window type decided in the window switching unit(220). An FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) unit(240) generates an FFT spectrum from the input audio signal using the window type decided in the window switching unit(220). A psychoacoustic model unit(250) analyzes a psychoacoustic model using the CMDCT spectrum generated in the CMDCT unit(230) and the FFT spectrum generated in the FFT unit(240).
