PURPOSE: A single head disk drive having backed system information is provided to include at least one of servo correction/optimization information, optimization information of reading/writing channels, and defect information on physical defects in system information, thereby safely managing the system information. CONSTITUTION: A single disk-type recording medium(110) records data and system information. A single head(115) writes and reads the data. A preamplifier(120) amplifies a signal from the single head(115). A reading/writing channel circuit(130) processes the signal from the preamplifier(120). An analog/digital converter(145) converts a signal inputted/outputted to a hard disk controller(150) into a digital signal. The recording medium(110) is rotated by a spindle motor(180). The single head(115) horizontally moves on the recording medium(110) by a rotative voice coil motor(165), and writes/reads the data on the recording medium(110).
