SMART POWER AMPLIFIER, IN WHICH IMPEDANCE MATCHING FOR OPTIMIZING OUTPUT AND EFFICIENCY IS USED

PURPOSE: A smart power amplifier is provided to improve efficiency of power consumption and control a power gain by using an output impedance matching unit in a high-power mode and a low-power mode. CONSTITUTION: An input impedance matching circuit(14) is used for matching an inputted RF signal and outputting the matched RF signal to an RF output line. An output impedance matching circuit(15) is connected to the RF output line in order to match the impedance of the amplified RF signal. A plurality of HBT(Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor) arrays(21,22) include a plurality of HBT collectors connected in parallel to the RF output line and a plurality of HBT bases connected in parallel to the RF input line. A first current source is connected to the HBT array which is installed at an input part of the RF input line. The second current source is connected to the remaining HBT arrays.
