PURPOSE: A fuel injection control device of a direct injection type diesel engine is provided to expand the time for contacting fuel and the air by primarily injecting the fuel to the inflow air at an intake step and accordingly to reduce pollution by sufficiently mixing the fuel and the air and using the large quantity of the air. CONSTITUTION: In a fuel injection control device of a direct injection type diesel engine(1), the use amount of fuel is divided into two times and a combustion process has a first fuel injection for the inflow air in an intake step and a second fuel injection for a combustion step. The fuel injection control device has fuel injection valves(5,7) and fuel pumps(4,6) for each intake and combustion steps, respectively. The injection amount of fuel for the intake step is same or smaller than the injected fuel for the combustion step in one cycle.
