LCD SUBSTRATE FOR RESTRAINING CONDUCTION REJECT AND LCD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A substrate for an LCD is provided to prevent the generation of scum of CF by forming an SiOx layer below a resin CD layer, thereby restraining the conduction reject caused by scum of CFs(Color Filters). CONSTITUTION: A substrate for an LCD includes a passivation film(14) formed between switching elements such as TFTs(2) and pixel electrodes(18), wherein the passivation film is in the stacking structure of an SiN layer(14a,14b) and SiOx layer(14c) or SiOxNY layer. The SiOx layer is formed at an uppermost layer and contacts a resin CF layer(15). The SiOx layer is stable with less age change, so that the separation of the CFs is rarely generated and scum of the CFs is hardly generated even when etching the resin CF layer.
